The aromas of freshly roasted coffee are a beacon to the senses as you draw near to Coffee Alchemy cafe on Addison Road. Alchemy is for the true aficiando. It’s small in here, barely enough room for 10 people to sit down and sample the Alchemy magic. Coffee Alchemy is located on Addison Road near Marickville Park but amongst many industrial type buildings. I am guessing perhaps the folks here are banking on a gentrification of the area owing to its proximity to the CBD.
The coffee in one word is sublime. It is quite simply some of the best coffee you will taste anywhere, anytime! The patterning of the latte art is exquisite, the texture is creamy and maintains it form throughout the cup. Flavors are rich and complex. It’s both a joy and sorrow as my cup empties. Coffee Alchemy roast their own coffee and for my cappuccino they use their house blend Galileo Goodness . Where many coffees fade away Alchemy’s sweet nutty and chocolate flavors linger a little longer.
Coffee Alchemy rely on delivering world class coffee, so much so that there aren’t any food options. Even without any food options, there is a constant flow of customers getting their coffee fix. If ever Coffee Alchemy does branch out and includes food and a bigger premises, I am sure they will be run of their feet with customers.
Service is also a high point. The team are friendly and there is a real community feel to the place. It’s almost feels like a retreat where those appreciate fine coffee, congregate to take it in!
Recommendation : I can’t recommend this little cafe highly enough. I traveled 45km to get a cup of coffee and I can tell you it was worth the drive. If only it’s once, you have to take a drive to Marickville and Coffee Alchemy, you’ll quickly become an addict.
